Data Deletion Policy

Last updated on: September 23, 2025

This page explains how you can request removal of your personal data held by Our Smart Society (Our Smart Solutions LLP — “OSS”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).

1. What “deletion” means

When we say we will delete your personal data, we mean that we will remove or irreversibly anonymize records that identify you from our active systems so that they are no longer usable to identify you. Some copies may remain in backups or logs for a limited time — see Data we may retain below.

2. Data you may request us to delete

You may request deletion of personal data we maintain about you, including:

3. Data we may retain (and why)

We may not be able to delete certain information because of law, security, or operational needs. Examples include:

Where retention is necessary, we will restrict access to the retained data and keep it only for the minimum period required.

4. How to make a deletion request

To request deletion, please send an email to support@ossapp.in with the subject line Data Deletion Request. Include the following to help us locate your data:

Alternatively, you may use the deletion request form on our website (if available): (link or embed form here).

5. Identity verification

To protect your privacy, we will verify your identity before processing a deletion. Verification may include:

We will only request the minimum information necessary for verification.

6. Timeline & process

StepTypical timeframe
Acknowledgement of receiptWithin 2 business days
Verification & reviewTypically completed within 10 business days
Active system deletionCompleted within 30 calendar days after verification (where feasible)
Backup / archival removal or anonymizationMay take up to 90 days depending on backup cycles and technical constraints

If we are unable to comply with all or part of your request, we will explain the reasons and tell you which data must be retained and why.

7. Cost

We do not charge for standard data deletion requests. If a request is manifestly unfounded, excessive or requires disproportionate effort, we may charge a reasonable fee or refuse the request — in such cases we will explain our reasons and provide an estimate before proceeding.

8. Consequences of deletion

9. Special cases

Requests concerning other people’s data, court orders, subpoenas, or law-enforcement requests will be handled according to applicable law and our legal obligations. If you request deletion on behalf of someone else, we may require proof of authorization.

10. Contact & escalation

If you have questions or want to raise a concern about how we handled your request, contact us:

If you remain unsatisfied, you may also contact your local data protection authority or regulatory body.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this page occasionally. We will post the effective date at the top and, where required by law, notify you of significant changes.
